Gold Tide® Forsythia is an outstanding groundcover variety of Forsythia. When pruning, remove the upright canes to maintain the ground-hugging habit. Fine-textured foliage is an attractive, shiny green. When cold temperatures come on long and slow in the fall, the interior leaves turn yellow with purplish colors on the outside. Forsythia is one of the first plants to bloom in the spring. It has excellent lemon yellow flowers along each stem that can last for a month. Flower bud hardiness is better than other varieties the further north you go. Gold Tide® is an introduction from France.
